Lee County Model Review
Client: Lee County (sub-consultant to EcoPlanz, Inc.)
Year: 2019 - 2020
The Lee County Flood Mitigation Plan covers Lehigh Acres, Southeast Lee County, South Lee County, and the Whiskey Creek watersheds. A regional model was developed to identify areas of flood high risk and to determine regional effects of proposed flood control projects within the four major County watersheds south of the Caloosahatchee River.
LAGO’s was tasked to peer review the model by performing a detailed review of the model setup, as well as the calibration results. LAGO evaluated the accuracy of the input data, numerical instabilities, mass balance errors, if the model is reasonably reproducing the measured flow and stage data, and if the report encloses the model setup and results.
A list of findings, questions and recommendations were delivered to the County.
