Sort dfs FilesPurpose
This tool allows the sorting of time-varying values in a dfs0, a dfs2 or a dfs3 file. In this way, the first time step in the sorted file contains the minimum values, the last time step the maximum values, and the middle time step the median values. This tool may be particularly useful for obtaining any other percentiles of the distribution (e.g. 5 %, 90 %, etc) by looking at the corresponding time steps. Usage The user must specify the input dfs0, dfs2 or dfs3 file, customize the input data period to be considered, choose if the no-data values will be kept at the beginning or at the end, and execute the tool to obtain a new sorted file. The sorting is executed independently for each item, and in the case of dfs2 or dfs3 files, each grid cell. In the case of specifying dfs0 file, there is an option to process all dfs0 files in the directory. The free version allows the user to save the first item of the dfs0 files, and in the case of dfs2 and dfs3 files, up to the first 50 x 50 elements of the grid. Pre-requisites It requires MIKE ZERO 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017 or 2019 to be installed, but the DHI license is not necessary. Example of use The two screens shown below illustrate the processing of the file “OresundHD.dfs2” provided with the installation of MIKE ZERO.
