Points Z plus Polylines to Vertices Z

Purpose
    This tool takes elevation values from Shape Points and a Polyline Shape file. These files are used to generate a Point Z shape file that contains the vertices for the polyline file with Z values taken from the field used in the point shape file.

Usage
    A typical workflow with the tool has the following three steps.

1. The user must specify a point shape file where a field specifies the elevation for each point. The user must also specify and polyline shape file and a XY Coordinate Tolerance.
2. The tool will then begin to associate an elevation from the points to the vertices of the polylines according to the tolerance given. Interpolation and extrapolation of elevations at vertices is performed for vertices where no point was close enough to associate an elevation with.
3. The final step is the tool writing the vertices of the polylines to a Point Z shape file. The vertices in the Point Z file will have two additional fields that determine line number and point sequence for the original polylines, and contain the Z axis value determined in step 2.

Example of use
    The screens shown below illustrate the processing of a point shape file and polyline shape file. 

Registration
    In order to have full functionality of this tool, the user needs to complete the registration by following these steps: 

Go to the right-top corner in this tool, click on the “About” button, and copy the Mac address shown there.

In this tool’s webpage, use the box above the "Add to Cart" button to enter the Mac address. Then, click on the "Add to Cart" button right below to enter your payment information. 

​After these steps, the authorization code will be sent to the email that you provided during the PayPal payment process.
