MIKE11 to HEC-RAS

Purpose
This tool helps to convert a MIKE11 model into a HEC-RAS model. This specifically allows the conversion of MIKE11 network (nwk11) and cross section (xns11) files into a corresponding HEC-RAS geometry (*.g00) file.
This conversion tool may be extremely helpful to perform the most tedious parts of the process, while reducing the chances of human error during the alternative time-consuming manual conversion. However, this is only a first stab at the procedure to get an equivalent HEC-RAS model, since further manual adjustments are necessary.

Usage
The user must specify the MIKE11 network (nwk11) and cross section (xns11) raw data files, and then select some of the available options before running the tool. The x-section raw data file must have been exported with MIKEZERO working in SI /default units.
The free version allows the user to evaluate the tool. However, it may save a simplified version of the converted HEC-RAS geometry file.

Pre-requisites
It is not necessary to have MIKE ZERO installed to run the tool.

Example of use
The screens shown below illustrates the conversion of complex MIKE11 model files in Collier County, FL.

Registration
In order to have full functionality of this tool, the user needs to complete the registration by following these steps:

Go to the right-top corner in this tool, click on the “About” button, and copy the Mac address shown there.

In this tool’s webpage, use the box above the "Add to Cart" button to enter the Mac address. Then, click on the "Add to Cart" button right below to enter your payment information.

After these steps, the authorization code will be sent to the email that you provided during the PayPal payment process.

In the following table, the conversion from the different MIKE11 features into HEC-RAS is detailed.

Further Steps
After running this tool, the following steps are recommended:

Observe the warning messages in the log file, which can be used as a guide to make further manual adjustments.
Some HEC-RAS structures generated by the tool may be at the same location, and the user may want to merge them for simplicity.
There is information in other MIKE11 files such as the sim11, the bnd11, and the hd11 files; which must be entered independently in the HEC-RAS project.
