Year: 2014 About: The district contracted LAGO to convert a 100-yr, 72-hr event HEC-RAS model of the C-51 Basin into a MIKE11 model. The MIKE11 model will consider all the features in the HEC-RAS model in order to demonstrate and evaluate the applicability of the MIKE11 model in the C-51 basin. |

Specifics:
DHI distributes a conversion tool from HEC-RAS to MIKE11 that is unsupported and not updated. That tool did not work for converting the C51 HEC-RAS model. LAGO successfully converted the C-51 basin HEC-RAS model to MIKE11, and in the process, developed a new conversion tool (named HEC-RAS to MIKE 11) in order to extract the information in the geometry file from a HEC-RAS model and build the corresponding MIKE11 files. This conversion tool is available as part of the LAGO Toolbox. |

Outcome:
The corresponding MIKE 11 model was successfully created. The comparison of the results from both models show relatively good agreement, considering that the modeling algorithms in HEC-RAS and MIKE11 are not completely equivalent |
